About the
Spl-it Towel
The Technology
The success of The Spl-it Towel lies in its innovative layered construction. The wet side utilizes microfiber material treated with hydrophilic compounds, enhancing its moisture absorption and retention capabilities. In contrast, the dry side incorporates materials with hydrophobic properties, effectively repelling water. These two surfaces are separated by a waterproof yet breathable membrane, a critical component that blocks liquid water while permitting vapor transmission, ensuring the dry side remains unaffected by the moisture on the opposite side.
Meet Jeff Powell
Jeff Powell, a former athlete, discovered his passion for golf later in life. As a football player and track athlete, Jeff’s sporting career took him to memorable moments, including the 1986 Sugar Bowl and being drafted by the Chicago Bears. He also was an All-American hurdler and sprinter and represented the United States in the Jr. Pan American Games in Barquisimeto Venenzuela and Jr. World Games in Seoul South Korea in 1982. Despite his athletic background, golf wasn’t on his radar until his sister introduced him to the game, after a divorce in 2002.
The initial rounds on the course were challenging, with Jeff admitting to being “horrible”, but occasionally hitting decent shots sparked his interest. This newfound passion for golf led to a collection of equipment and accessories, including an abundance of golf towels.
Jeff found that traditional towels fell short in efficiently cleaning and drying his clubs. Determined to enhance this essential golf accessory, he developed the concept of the Spl-it Towel. Inspired by a crude form he had been using for years, Jeff refined the design and partnered with a factory in China to bring his creation to life.
Now, the Spl-it Towel offers golfers a functional solution to quickly and efficiently clean and dry their club faces and balls. Jeff hopes that fellow golf enthusiasts will appreciate the practicality and value that the Split-Towel brings to their game.
